KILANfest

Brian Miller announced the upcoming KILANfest, a computer gaming event being sponsored by Hostaroo and KIPCUG for 30 hours beginning October 20th at 10:00am thru October 21st, 4pm.  KIPCUG has offered to man the concession stand for the 30 hours.  Volunteers are needed to man  2-hour, 2-person time slots covering the full 30 hours. If you can help out at the concession stand, please email Brian at brian@hoostaroo.com  .

Corel Announces 40% Off Entire Product Line:  Corel,  JASC, Ulead, InterVideo, WinZip!

Evelyn Watts of Corel Corporation presented a wonderful and  informative presentation of Corel DVD MovieFactory 6 Plus during our September meeting.  She demonstrated the easy-to-use capabilities of this disc authoring and burning software, including its ability to burn to HD and Blu-Ray discs.  More information can be gotten at  http://www.ulead.com/dmf/runme.htm.  With this software, anyone can create studio-quality presentations of videos and slideshows to present to friends and family.

At the meeting, Evelyn also unveiled Corel's newest product which came out on September 5th.  The new product is Corel's Paint Shop Pro® Photo X2, a new product release featuring enhanced digital photography editing software.  Their  press release states that viewing, sorting and processing downloaded photos is faster with the new Express Lab, and even new users can produce results quickly, learning as they go.  Professional quality editing is available within this product.

You can greatly improve your e-mail experience by properly configuring Outlook Express, which is the default Windows e-mail client. Outlook, which is included with MS Office, is a completely different program, but it has a similar user interface for e-mail.
