   E-Mail  Update
Your KIPCUG Board of Directors wants everyone to receive our e-mail announcements. However, as we mentioned in previous e-mails, we are going to a "double-opt-in" e-mail program that will only send messages to those that have actually requested them.

We have sent a standard text message to all members asking for them to click on an "approval link." We have posted a note on our web site http://www.kipcug.org .

About a week ago, we sent a similar standard text message to all our previous members, supporters and those that had requested our announcements in the past.

KIPCUG will not sent out SPAM. We will only send e-mail to those that requested it. We believe in this step and will not send future announcements to anyone - including paid members - that have not opted-in.

Beginning with today's e-mail, those that have responded will receive the mailing. Those that have not - won't be included.

On the positive side, every e-mail will have "kipcug" in the subject line. Every e-mail will have an opt-out link at the bottom so anyone can stop our messages if the wish to do so. Every e-mail will have a link for you to change your e-mail address.  Anyone can re-start the process by going to our home page and entering their valid e-mail address at any time.

For new Subscribers or anyone that wishes to approve their e-mail address:  Go to our home page at http://www.kipcug.org . On the right side of the page is a sign up form. It will generate a verifying e-mail with an authorization link that "double verifies" your permission.

Note: we can not approve an address from the "sender" or "our" side to protect the basic concept that all mail is generated from the "receiving" side.

SIG Calendar Note: KIPCUG uses calendar software on our web page that is provided without cost in exchange for a few Google ads at the bottom of the calendar. They are located in the blue border and are identified with Google's name in the lower right corner of the ad section. These links are not associated with KIPCUG - we can not specify what ads appear.

Stop Printing that Document

Sometimes you begin to print a document and then change your mind. How do you stop a print job? Because your program simply passes off its printing jobs to Windows, there is no obvious way to cancel printing. It can be done if you're crafty, however. Follow these steps:

Locate the printer icon located on the taskbar at the bottom-right of your screen. (Look near the current-time display.)  This printer icon appears only when Windows is sending something to the printer. Depending on how much you're printing and how fast your printer is, you may not even see it at all. If you don't, you're out of luck and you may as well quit right now and eat some ice cream.

Double-click the little printer icon.

Click the name of your document "job" in the Print Manager's list.

Choose Document-->Cancel Printing.

You may be asked whether you really want to terminate the employee, er, print job. Click OK. If you're using a network printer, you may not be able to cancel the document. Oh well.

Choose Printer-->Close. You are zapped back to your program, ready for more editing action.

Editor's Note: If you have a fast printer - first remove the paper in the feeder (Do not pull on the sheet currently printing). No paper - No print next page. Now go through the above steps to cancel.
