Don’t look now, but here comes Spring! And Spring
FEVER!!! And Spring Cleaning!!! With that in mind, our spring theme is on
cleaning, repairing, and building. Brian Miller and Wayne Perkey will be
building a custom PC, with a little help from Cool-It. We will be showing
you, step by step, how to build a custom PC from zero to complete. We will
demonstrate how to upgrade key components to your machine, and with the
roll-out of Windows Vista, many of us will have to do that in order to
install and run Vista.
Building a machine (or upgrading) takes more than just putting parts
together. We will instruct you on the best methods to find the
specifications for your machine, where and how to get the right parts, and
how to assemble.
Cool-It, a national company that specializes in high-end components and
cooling systems will be on hand to assist with the project. If you have
never seen a water-cooled processor system (as opposed to a heat sink and
fan), now is your chance. Of course, our system MUST run the latest
games…..So we will use high end dual graphics cards using the new PCI
Express bus system. We will need to keep the GPU cool….So Cool-It to the
rescue with custom GPU cooling system. This should be fun.

Back-to-Basics:

The KIPCUG General Meeting starts with the ever-helpful Back-to-Basics
session.
Each month "Back-to-Basics" chooses a subject to improve everyone's basic/general knowledge.
The sessions are intended to help the entry level user. Tom Scanlan
leads our Back-to-Basics presentations. Contact Tom with your
suggestions for future topics.
User-to-User with Bob Rose
Bring
your problems on a 3x5 card and we will try to give you a fix!
The User to User session with host Bob Rose is just before the Main

submitted on paper. If YOU are having a problem with your PC, this is the
time to get a good solution, so remember to bring your questions.
Follow up questions and discussions are posting on the

tables, have fun, network, and relax a little before returning home. Grab a
chair and join in! Friday's is located at 2311 Lime Kiln Road. From
the meeting take Brownsboro Road east to Lime Kiln, turn right, Friday's
will be on your left. Everyone pays for their own “snack.” See you there!
