This Month's Presenter

by Charley May

I want to give you a little bit of information about each of the three December Meeting Presenters.

I first met Charles (Charlie) Kaltenthaler back in the early/mid nineties when he walked up to me in a KIPCUG general meeting and introduced himself. I found him to have a retiring personality, as he had retired from the printing industry (after 20 years service) in 1973, but then he bought a Publishing Company from the CJ Lithographing Company. Twenty years later, he sold the company and Charlie retired again. Then in 1984 he retired from the United States Army Reserve with over 33 years service. Charlie is now working on his next retirement with CompUSA where he serves as one of their Technology Instructors. He first joined KIPCUG back in 1994 in order to further his knowledge of computers, and he is still working on it every day. Louisville born and educated, Charlie attended University of Louisville. Nowadays at CompUSA, he may be found, days, nights or weekends training people in the home or in their classroom on any of the 5,000 items carried by CompUSA (hardware or software; Mac or PC). I am proud to count Charlie Kaltenthaler and his wife Barbara as friends, especially since he has done so much for KIPCUG in the past and continues to step up to the plate for KIPCUG and CompUSA. I think you will find his part of the presentation interesting, inspiring and educational. I would be surprised if there was not some humor mixed in.

Christopher Egbert and I met on the phone when we were putting together the CompUSA ad for the KIPCUG magazine and found out that he is a "can do" kind of guy. Christopher is the Assistant Sales Manager at CompUSA. He is a 23 year old young professional and as many of us know, Christopher has frequently been a guest on Bob Secolar's Dot Com cable TV program. He is a big fan of Apple Computers and not long ago used one to make a feature length documentary that recently premiered at Baxter Avenue Theatres. I feel that Christopher has many great things ahead of him and hope that we at KIPCUG see a lot more of him.

Wendy Kilgore and I first met at a KIPCUG General meeting some months back when she joined KIPCUG. Wendy is the Territory Sales Manager for MarketSource LLC under contract to Hewlett-Packard. Her company represents HP to the retailer's in the United States and Canada, making her an excellent source of information on HP. Wendy is a graduate of Georgia College with a Bachelor's Degree in Management and Marketing. She has been in sales for 20 years representing such companies as Nestle, McCormick, Nabisco, Energizer and now her passion, HP. Wendy has been into computers as a hobby since 1987 and truly loves her job. As an amateur photographer who loves to photographing animals, I expect Wendy will have some tremendous insights into Digital Cameras for us. She calls on CompUSA and the other big name Electronics outlets in our area. Wendy is looking forward to seeing all of us again at the meeting.

Again, I invite you to be sure that you do not miss this comprehensive triple-header presentation team, what they have to show as well as tell you about Holiday Electronics and of course, all those special things that will happen at this meeting.
